It is open genetics (preserves the gene pool). 3. Lets us own the market. Example: Coffee: It is a good business if you own the market outside of guatemala. However if you are the producer you starve. This is the only sustainable agricultural macadamia on the planet, so if you do not buy our label you do not get it. If we do not have our label in front of the final consumer, we do not own the market, we will never stop being poor. 4. It feeds the people, people who have coffee here are virtually starving. 5. Reduces the destruction of the tropical rainforest and preserves the biodiversity there in. The biodiversity in terms of medical plants is a universal treasure. 6. Makes job opportunities and makes private sector business people out of the indigenous communities, with enough economic income so that they can pay for their own infrastructure, school, medical clinics, roads, etc. If we do not do that, it won't happen. 7. Firewood. Firewood may be the biggest cause of tropical deforestation. Approximatley 50% of the people on this planet cook with firewood. The prunnings from the Macadamia tree should supply the family with sufficient firewood to not have to cut down more forest 8.
